Yeah I think Alcohol is a state tax. Some states actually make it themselves and the state gets 100% of the alcohol profit (from the state brand)

I know it's frakking expensive out here; a six pack of my malt liquor is $5.50. Sixer of Shiner Black is $7.50, and they're just 12-ounce bottles. 12-pack of Budweiser? $20 Really good beer? Don't ask.

I don't drink much myself, but I think prices are fairly similar to that over here. The US seems to be pretty pricey in that department.

Beer averages at about $1 a bottle here for cheap to average stuff and maybe $2 for the good stuff.

I buy 1 litre of Vodka for $35 usually for my drinking.
