You're not bursting my bubble. I've seen dealers try to get paid back for that "truck to truck" credit. You can guess by my reaction what their success rate has been.

Well according to the government if the new truck gets at least 18MPG and gets 2 more MPG than the old one they're entitled to the money.

I'm telling you from the inside that this whole program is the biggest example of the government shoving it's head up it's ass that I've seen in a long time. Ex.: The CARS program was instituted on July 1st. The details (for dealers) on how to register, program requirements, disposition regulations, how to apply for reimbursement (oh yes - we have to float the money and then apply for reimbursement, plus we have to pay fro disposition!) etc. weren't released until July 23rd.
