Depends on what you're referring to. Yuma Mountain in Nevada is the site of an expensive, solid, sealed, and perfectly feasible waste storage facility. The Sierra Club had it's opening held up in litigation as one scientist said that it might be valid for half-lives of only 9500 years, rather than the 10,000 in the proposal.

As far as fast reactors, they don't dispose of the waste of traditional or small-pellet reactors - they're able to use that waste as new fissile fuel.

Well, now, let's not be hasty. Their concern is somewhat justified.

If, for example, you mistakenly ate a bowl of radioactive pellets in place of your Frankenberries, or what have you, it would be rather unhealthy.
