I guess I don't see McCain's slanderous campaign ads as reflective of a strong character. Maybe I'm misreading the situation, but I've been thinking Obama was trying to distance himself from the sleazy type of campaign McCain seems to be so comfortable with.

Is anyone seriously going to be fooled into seeing this as anything other than what it really is?

Unfortunately -

David Letterman reacting to McCain's last minute cancellation of an appearance on Letterman's Late Show.

There are still people in the U.S. who ardently believe that Iraq had something to do with 9/11. Does that give you any idea how easily some of the people here will be fooled by this overly transparent ploy?

If a crisis looms during an election campaign, I would think that would be the perfect time for the candidates to step up and tell the public how they would deal with it if elected.
The idea that they should suspend the campaign is absurd. What does McCain think they should do instead, exactly? Bush is the President, it's his job to deal with it (stop laughing!), not theirs.

Idiots are the majority and the Fundie morons are the leaders.

It's all about showing people who the more natural leader is. It really helps McCain that his party holds the Executive Office. McCain can be intimately involved with the President in coming up with a solution. From there the populace will see that only one man running for President had the power to control the Feds.

Well, Obama has already said that, no, there's an election coming up, and he's not suspending it. However, he and McCain have been sitting down to have round-table talks with the administration over possible solutions. Which possible solutions are now being bogged down, BTW, but the extreme right of the House of Representatives.

McCain changed his mind. Debate's on again.
