Most Americans vote for very shallow reasons. We're generally very uninformed about the political climate, and our media coverage doesn't help that at all. Presidential elections are popularity contests, and the candidates are treated like celebrities. The candidates will say anything to get into office, and the populace will generally believe them. Also, our voter-turnout is really abysmal.

There are a lot of disgruntled Hillary supporters who won't vote for Obama because he has a penis. McCain may have just wooed them over to his side with a female Vice President.
That might not be true, a lot of Hillary supporters dont want another woman in power even as the VP cause they think its Hillarys glass ceiling to break and no one elses.

Palin will NOT attract a majority of Hillary supporters, and certainly will not attract hardcore feminists. NRA-joining, pro-life-supporting, legal-loophole-giving-for-FEDERALLY-illegal-land-and-shoot-endangered-species-hunting governors don't get those votes. It was an attempt to steal those votes, but unless the Obama campaign completely craps the bed, there's no way it should work.

I'm sorry, but this woman is a formar Miss Alaska 1984??????? And if McCain gets elected and dies (since he's about 2 years older than Moses) she would become the President of the United States? Gees........we'd become a bigger friggin' laughing stock than we are now.
