Sounds cool, I never got into homeworld so maybe this will be it for me.

Nothing it will never come. Death before defeat. I don’t bend or break. I end, if I meet a foe capable of it. Victory is in forcing the opponent to back down. I do not. There is no defeat.

This is a bit more intensive strategically than homeworld, but the plus side is its incredibly mellow. you have to be patient to play it. you cant just build a fleet and go and kill things. you have to bide your time, level your capital ships, then begin your assaults, planet at a time.

I personally play Advent alot, weak ships but advanced tech and good weapons. Its all relative. Theres diplomacy as well, plus if you have it enabled, every 15 minutes or so, a pirate attack is imminent, and you have to put a price on an enemy empire. the empire with the highest price, gets ravaged by local pirates, unless the heavily fortified (and i mean HEAVILY) pirate base in that sector is eliminated.

Sounds better and better. I have always preferred putting detailed thought into the actual play of a game rather than trying to put it into figuring out an arcane set of controls for a shooter.

Maybe, we do tend to get things a few months late unless it is a big thing.

Bump.

Got it and have managed to play 4 different maps over the last 2 months, a combination of the games taking for ever and me only able to play it when I'm near a power socket for my laptop.

It is great!! For the first hour of play I was disapointed as hell. But as soon as you get through the tutorial and about 2 hours into your first game your hooked.

Long involved games with great stategy and fun game play.

Don't get me wrong, it is a great game and I enjoyed it a lot but what I do not understand is why the make all those pretty graphics and ships and effects.

Seriously most of the time I am so far zoomed out to overlook the battlefields that the only ships I have graphics for are the super large battleships, whereas the smaller supporting ships are only visible as symbols at maximum weapon-range.

Remembered me a bit of supreme commander where you also spend most of the time on the minimap
I'm Commander Shepard and this is my favorite store on the Citadel.
