Leasing allowed someone to get a car which they couldn't afford at a payment which they could afford. The problem on the consumer's end is you pay for 2,3, or 4 years, and then turn it in and have no equity to show for the money you put in.

Yup. I dunno, I always had a problem with buying something I wouldn't eventually own (the afore mentioned buyout).

I say screw Ford. Sure I like their trucks, even had a few. But at some point they should have thought about spreading out their assets a bit. They didn't watch the market and now are going ape-shit for it. Again, fuck'em and move on. Not like we don't still have Chevy which is still doing well.

I have a 1994 Ford Ranger XL and I love it. But, I don't need Ford's help to keep it running since I can use Chevy parts. SO! Tell your folks I say to hell with Ford.
