I dunno if he'd mind 40K. While it doesn't touch on current religions it certainly has religion as a big part of the world. And while the gods are seldom, if ever, "nice" they are quite real, and the series is clear on everyone having a soul.

He'll have a problem, a big problem with the God-Emperor and the HH series especially. A big part of that shits all over religion.
