I don't see the contradiction.

Whilst not having anything against gay people personally, I can still see how one of my children would have an easier time growing up if he were straight.

I personally wouldn't tick the box, and finding out one of my children was gay wouldn't change my feeling towards them one bit - but I still might be tempted to spare them any pain I could.

But I would also want by child to have a easy life with none of the personal conflicts that come from being gay. Not easily being able to have a family. Not easily being able to find a mate since there will always be far less of them than straight people.

And since I would want to give my child every advantage I could I would tick that box along with the others.

If I can make a point. Obviously persecuting someone because he happens to be homosexual is wrong and they deserve to have all the rights heterosexual people have marriage and adoption included.
That being said let us not pretend that there is nothing wrong with homosexuals. Sexuality exists primarily for procreation and if you are attracted to the same sex that defeats the purpose.

Then let us also stop pretending that there is nothing wrong with birth control of all kinds. Let us stop pretending that there is nothing wrong with infertile people having sex, including those who are simply too old to have children any more. Let us stop pretending that there is nothing wrong with sex acts that do not permit procreation - from kissing to blow jobs, it's all just so obviously wrong.

Here's a question. Would you alter the genes of a black foetus to make them white? After all, black people also face discrimination which makes their life harder.

Well I'm white so its pointless question. If I found out my kid was going to be unusually short i would make them taller. I would do what I could to make them as normal as possible.

Black genes dont resurface. If I have a black ancestor they are at least 6 generation back thus that would mean the gene is deeply buried. If it came out again I wouldnt have a black child. I would have a child with a slightly darker skin tone. Thats why people who are half and half are not black or white but an inbetween.

But if by some random way I found I was going to have a black kid... yeah I suppose I would change them now. In todays world white people still have the advantage. it might not be fair but its true at the moment so I would do what I can to give my kid all the advantages he can get.

You dont make the world but you do have to play by its rules.

So you wouldnt tick the box for sexuality, would you tick the ones for diseases ect? What about things like autisum? Lots of people dont consider that a bad thing. Some people live with it happily? Williams sydrome? Down sydrome? Lots of these people are happy with life.

Alzhimers patents are happy enough. They might not know what the hell is going on but my Grandmother was perfectly happy even if she didnt know who I was before she died.

No one decided it, it is simply a matter of fact. You procreate or species dies out. From evolutionary standpoint homosexuality is a dead end.
What would happen if all dolphins turned heterosexual? What would happen to them if they all turned homosexual?

Just as natural as heterosexuality.

Because both happen naturally in all animal species with no out side influence, thus it is natural.
