Weird... especially since the part of the bill that seems to be in contention - the bit about protecting the telecom companies - doesn't seem like a bit that needs to be kept under wraps.

Well, this government doesn't always make sense when they do anything. Very little actually.

This is the U.S. Congress. Chances are that they don't even know why they do what they do.
