Reminds me of playing Kerbal when I finally figured out how to go EVA...
Poor guy couldn't make it back to the ship, but he gave it a damn good effort before running out of fuel. Bounced off of the ship twice.

I've gotten to the point where an EVA Kerbal is written off as soon as they let go of the handle, I'm that bad at flying them.

Did they use dispatch dogs to deliver messages by firing them at the front lines out of big catapults or something?
