I watched the actual eps fairly recently and to be honest they were "different". I'm not sure how to put it really but its prob the pacing and way the eps were structured. I wouldn't personally recommend it to someone to watch as their first intro to Dr Who - especially a "youngster" brought up on shows with modern effect and story pacing. It was still enjoyable to watch but from a more "historical" point of view if you get what I mean.
I'm not sure I'm getting across properly what I mean but you get my meaning?

As it was the first it set the trend but that has changed an evolved over the years so people more familiar with more modern program pacing and layouts would find it a bit strange perhaps. Its still enjoyable but "different"
