Long histories of clerical abuse -

Post by Mikey »

- not just for the US Church anymore!

Of course we've all heard Sinead O'Connor sing about this with the Chieftains, but this is the first I've read about a concrete compilation of evidence. The best part is that the evidence has now been presented - but nothing's going to be done.

Well, colour me unsurprised. It's been known for years that this shit's been going on. Hell, the last decade or so over here has just been scandal after scandal being revealed from the church, along with people trying to sweep it under the carpet.

I doubt it'll stay quiet, though. The government over here's desperately trying to save itself from collapse, and allowing this to go unpunished will pretty much ensure the destruction of Fianna Faíl as a political party. I think they'll try and punish those involved, if only to try and gain some good will amongst the people.

And Ireland gets it's own residential school scandal, except these kids aren't Natives.
