I can...
In the beginning the Universe was created. This has made a lot of people very angry and been widely regarded as a bad move.

I don't know what sorts of problems you were talking about, Monroe - I for one have no problems with you modding.

To be honest, I've never been a fan of using pre-existing characters. I'd much rather make up our own...................but that's just me

ya I'd thought about something like that.....pick your univers and develop a charecter that would be from that universe.....but I figured we could debate that rule later....

I had asked about that too... Makes no nevermind to me. If we go with extant characters, you have my pick. If we go with our own creations, we'll burn that bridge when we come to it.

I think creating your own characters would be better. it allows more diversity and creativity, which are two qualities that I see as tied in with the quality of the writing, therefore mine and others enjoyment. plus writing an already created character could be a little bit more challenging.

Very true.Reliant121 wrote:it allows more diversity and creativity,
I don't think that quality writing is impossible with previously-established characters.Reliant121 wrote:which are two qualities that I see as tied in with the quality of the writing, therefore mine and others enjoyment.
I also don't think that there's anything necessarily wrong with that, either. Challenging can be a very good thing.Reliant121 wrote:plus writing an already created character could be a little bit more challenging.
But, I'm open to either format.

Re: Possible New RP Discussion Thread
Why not both? Either pick a pre-existing character-like i did-or make up your own?

I think that's the best approach.RK_Striker_JK_5 wrote:Why not both? Either pick a pre-existing character-like i did-or make up your own?
How many Minbari does it take to screw in a lightbulb?
None. They always surrender right before they finish the job and never tell you why.

Agreed.
There is only one way of avoiding the war – that is the overthrow of this society. However, as we are too weak for this task, the war is inevitable. -L. Trotsky, 1939
Re: Possible New RP Discussion Thread
So, we are just picking ANY old character from any universe?

Re: Possible New RP Discussion Thread
I believe the consinsus is you can pick any universe, and either a charector, or make a charecter that would fit in that universe, as long as the charecter isn't god-like...(ie Galactus from the Marvel Universe)Mark wrote:So, we are just picking ANY old character from any universe?

Re: Possible New RP Discussion Thread
No Superman or God-Emperor or God or Chuck Norris or anything like that. Also try to reason how and why your character could and will fit into the group. You don't want to make a character that gets killed right away because he couldn't or wouldn't get along with people.
