Well, I read that Nichelle Nichols, George Takei, and Walter Koenig met with their new counterparts, to help them prepare for the roles. I imagine all of them will see it.

I don't know about Shatner, though. He's still pissed that he isn't in the movie.

He apparently brought up the idea of canonizing his novels (where Kirk is resurrected using Borg nanoprobes

), and JJ Abrams said something like " we could come up with all sorts of ways to do it, but it would just feel like fanboys trying to shoehorn Kirk into the movie". I tend to agree.

A few years back, his wife overdosed, and drowned in their pool; he was too late to save her. Pretty tragic.

I think he remarried not too long ago.
