Picture from 1371 ● [1] A group of Nacene from another galaxy explore the Delta Quadrant. While on the Ocampan home world they accidentally cause an ecological disaster which threatens to destroy the Ocampa. The Nacene build an underground habitat for the Ocampa and two of them stay on to look after their charges. One subsequently leaves to found an Ocampa colony, the other dies of old age in 2371 after unsuccessfully attempting to reproduce. [1]

The ship is dragged from the Badlands across the galaxy to the Delta Quadrant by the Nacene individual known as the Caretaker. Voyager procedes to investigate the circumstances surrounding the abduction. [4]
