Sullivan's Planet was M-Class planet, which in 2261, was inhabited by a pre-warp civilization with a population of over 100 million. The planet's crust was rich in aldentium, making it a target for the scavenger ship known as Astrovore. [1]

Atrovore was on its way to destroy the planet, after it had destroyed Helicon Gamma, when the USS Farragut was able to overtake and destroy it preventing the attack. [1]
