Just did this in-game. (quit because GFX are a bit hot from other games), blur from being focused on the interceptor.

Played it, had fun with the episode with the FTL inhibitor, and the sphere of Ion Frigates around it.
Wound up sending probes near the sphere to lure out a few of the enemy Ion Frigates at a time. Frigates would fixate on the probe, and pass right by my Salvage Corvettes.
Took a while, but was able to capture all of them.

That's actually the strategy I used too. Pretty much the whole campaign I built only salvage corvettes. That level with the asteroid? It was destroyed in like a second. It's amazing what 160+ ion cannon frigates can do.

Played it when it was first released, I Loved it! Also played the 2nd one, not as much love for it but still played it.
I’ve since re-downloaded both the games from steam to feel some nostalgia.

I have to confess that I couldn’t defeat the 1st games final mission. I tried and tried repeatedly but always failed.
Not enough resources or ineffective strategy, take your pick.

Homeworld is one of the games where you might have made a mistake in a previous mission and wound up with not enough resources for the next mission. As a result you may have to replay a previous mission or few in order to give yourself a better chance in the next one.
Unlike Starcraft or "Hostile Waters:Antaeus Rising"for example, where you start each mission with a fixed amount of resources no matter how well you did in the previous mission.

Homeworld 3... I think those were corvettes?
And at the end, I saw Gearbox is co-producing this? I’m a big fan of their prior works. Time to sign up for beta! (Fingers crossed)

Awww.. I hoped it was news. Lol, it’s a homeworld thread, even if it’s slightly outdated news, isn’t it still relevant to the topic?
But more importantly, what have you heard about it so far? Good news, bad news? I know gearbox tends to be tight lipped with development info so maybe there isn’t much to know right now.
I did sign in and created an account with blackbird software and Fig (https://www.fig.co/campaigns/homeworld3) but there wasn’t a beta program available. There’s an investor program that allows stock purchasing w/$500 usd minimum-> upto $10k, crazy. There are what seems to be “early purchase” programs starting at $60 usd and going up to $300 usd. The low end is just for the basic game with an anticipated release time of Q4 2022... I’m a fan of the game but dropping $60 or up to $10k, for a game that’s maybe coming out in two more years.. sorry but I’m not that BIG of a fan.

Well, given that they were "crowdfunding" still AFTER the release of that video... there's a bit of a split in the homeworld community seeing it as 'geeze these guys are just after loads more money' or 'well wouldn't you want more funds so you CAN afford to do the bigger stuff that wouldn't in the regular games funding business model that usually gives us these games?'

Lol. After Borderlands 3... the long wait.. the pre purchase.. the years of hype.. even if it’s a gearbox game, I’ve been once bitten, twice shy with games that are years from release. Sadly.. I can only hope homeworld 3 doesn’t let the series down.
Side note, I think I remember a woman tied into some gear in the first game but it’s been years. The ending scene of 3’s trailer shows a woman inside of a blue-lit full body interface, any ideas who it may be?

[sneezing sound] Bless you!
I forgot about Karan and the whole Sajuuk-Khar story.
