RSC and Broadway mainstay and Tony winner, comic actor of Cheers and Robin Hood: Men in Tights fame, Warehouse 13 alum, and owner of a list of TV, film, and voice credits far longer than my arm, Roger Rees passed away at the age of 71. Sir Patrick Stewart said, "Brilliant actor, dear friend and colleague, witty, kind, private man, Roger Rees died this morning. A space is left that cannot be filled."

He was certainly great in both of those roles, but I will admit that I had no idea when watching him in Cheers that he was already a famed Shakespearean actor and Tony winner.

Neither did I. Now that I think about it, I didn't know Patrick Stewart did Shakespeare when I first saw TNG.

I think my first thought was something along the lines of, "Hey, it's that guy from Dune."
