Our own galaxy will be involved in an enormous collision with the Andromeda galaxy in 2.5 billion years. It's possible our own sun will be ejected into intergalactic space during this process.

If anyone (human or otherwise) is around to see it, it should be quite a show. As Andromeda approaches, it's spiral arms will begin to fill up the sky.

I agree. I'd love to see it. I remember learning about that when I was a kid, and wished I could at least see what it would look like.

Well since the crash will take several hundred Million years to happen I might just pop in every now and again to see how its going.
