Server problems

Post by dbutler1986 »

I don't know if it's just me or what, but for the past two weeks when I try to access DITL I get a lot of distorted frames which say "Service temporarily unavailable" until I refresh several times, at which point much of the LCARS graphics are either invisible (ie, no graphic, but still a clickable link) or moved out of their proper position so that you can't read the text, but at least I can access the site. Sometimes the Service Unavailable will mention bandwidth being exceeded.

Yeah, it has been on a bit of a rocky path for the past couple of weeks...

What ISP's and browsers are you guys using? I haven't noticed anything out of the ordinary.

Really? There was one the other evening where no one seemed to be able to get on.

Even here on the forum some graphics seem off... I'm getting alt text instead of icons in a lot of situations.

Well, there have been a few days during which I was gone all day, but I'm using good ol' MSN with Comcast High-Speed ISP, and I haven't had any issues.

...Then again my internet does periodically disconnect me every 2 minutes or so...

I haven't had any problems with my ISP, and I've been using Firefox since v1.5 and still love it just as much. Maybe it's a problem with some node in Verizon's network in between DITL and here...

What does defeat mean to you?

Nothing it will never come. Death before defeat. I don’t bend or break. I end, if I meet a foe capable of it. Victory is in forcing the opponent to back down. I do not. There is no defeat.

There's been a few times when it's been a bit sluggish, and sometimes a page doesn't load properly, but one refresh is enough to sort it out.

The only problem I've ever really noticed, is that sometimes it takes quite a while to load a page, and sometimes come up 'cannot display page', or something. But it hasn't done that in a good while, and I've not noticed any other problems.

I've noticed the quality of my posts decreasing... I would like to put that on the server issues as well...

I've been having trouble as well. Firefox 2 and Comcast, I get some very interesting page layout errors and a 'service temporarily unavailable' with some regularity. It's only started happening very recently. Been referencing the site for years before now without trouble.

I could take a screenshot the next time it happens, maybe?
