*Facepalm*

Post by Lighthawk »

Two woman who watched a burglary in progress, then called police to report the crime, were arrested by police one month later, after police determined they actually went into the store and grabbed 15 packs of cigarettes and 42 scratch lottery tickets after the original burglar left the store.

Meretta Sperow, 36, of 14 Blossom St., Nashua, and Amanda Primeau, 25, of 80 Ledge Street, were both charged on Sept. 29 with burglary, a Class B felony, one month after the burglary at ARZ Market on Aug. 29, police said.

On that date in August, Sperow met police outside the ARZ Market, 41 Lake St., at about 12:40 p.m. She told police she had been driving driving east on Lake Street when she witnessed a male use a skateboard to smash the front window of the market and get away with a large quantity of cigarettes.

She left out the part where she allegedly followed suit.

But thanks to a store surveillance video, detectives determined that Sperow actually took advantage of the situation and allegedly entered the store to take cigarettes and lottery tickets after the first suspect left the store – while on still on the phone with police. Primeau also took cigarettes and lottery tickets, police said.

Nashua Police Det. Jeffrey Bukunt said it took some time to be able to review the store's surveillance tape following the Aug. 29 burglary due to the nature of the equipment.

Both women were arraigned in Nashua District Court on the offenses. A Class B Felony carries a penalty of up to seven years in prison, exclusive of fines.

Bukunt said police do not believe the initial burglary suspect was known to or working with Sperow and Primeau.

Polie have released a photo taken from the surveillance footage of the male suspect in hopes that the public can help identify him. He was described as white or Hispanic, in his late teens or 20s, wearing a light grey hooded sweatshirt with some type of writing or design on the front and dark pants. The suspect partially concealed his face with a cloth.

What does defeat mean to you?

Nothing it will never come. Death before defeat. I don’t bend or break. I end, if I meet a foe capable of it. Victory is in forcing the opponent to back down. I do not. There is no defeat.
