Despite delivering 2 knockdowns that weren't called, despite receiving an insane number of rabbit punches for which no points were deducted, and despite his opponent being allowed to leave his corner late for a glove-tape issue, Bernard "The Executioner" Hopkins - age 46 - just became the oldest man to win a legitimate boxing championship in taking the WBC belt in a unanimous decision from Jean Pascal.
Hopkins put on quite a technical display, using his typical defensive skill and the whole ring to avoid Pascal's considerable power... also stopping to perform some push-ups when Pascal failed to answer the bell while getting a tape issue fixed.
