Yay for the Tea Party!

Post by Monroe »

Wha?!?! Monroe saying yay for the Tea Party?

Well 25 of them at least actually stood up for their core beliefs and with the Democrats struck down the Patriot Act. So for now? The USA Patriot Act is struck down.

None. They always surrender right before they finish the job and never tell you why.

Wow this is interesting.
What does defeat mean to you?

Nothing it will never come. Death before defeat. I don’t bend or break. I end, if I meet a foe capable of it. Victory is in forcing the opponent to back down. I do not. There is no defeat.

Yeah, I saw that. Warrantless wiretaps, investigations of "suspicious" individuals, and some other stuff was not extended.

IDK about Obama's additions to it, though.

It always struck as darkly ironic that the law which so directly contravened the morals of our nation's founding was called the "Patriot" Act. In any event, I agree with Monroe. Whether the Tea Party's leanings were based on morality about individual freedoms (not so sure) or a desire to keep government out of people's faces (more likely,) the end is a definite good thing.
