30 Best Sci-Fi Shows of All Time
According to my local news station, these are the best 30 scifi shows of all time. I'm not sure where they got their information, but TOS is #1, The Twilight Zone is #2, TNG is #3 and SG-1 is #4

Obvious nonsense. Not only did they put all sorts of shit above DW, but if they want to use images to portray the various series they should at least use images that depict the series as they're best remembered - series 9/10 of SG1 and series 27 of Who do not count as such.

I have to disagree with almost all of that list myself. but thats because I've never heard of half of it.

Sliders above the new Battlestar Galactica? REALLY?

Heroes above... anything? That show has been a trainwreck since the second season.

Andromeda 24?
DS9 18?
Dr. Who at 15?!
The X-Files at number 6...really. The first three should be much higher, and X-Files...just why!

Re: 30 Best Sci-Fi Shows of All Time
X-Files was pretty good. You have to look at its impact on things too. Now why Xena and Buffy count is beyond me. The rest of the list I don't have -that- much of a problem with. Nowhere Man or whatever its called should have been pretty low since I had never heard of it. Oh and V should have gotten two listing for the old 80s (which should have been low) and the new one (which should have been high).

Re: 30 Best Sci-Fi Shows of All Time
1) TOS
2) Twilight Zone
3) TNG <-- DS9 was better
4) Stargate SG-1
5) LOST <-- Remains to be seen. Unless they pull it together in these last few episodes then it's just a mindscrew without a point.
6) X-Files
7) Neo BSG <-- 7th Best of all time? Ehhhh...
8) Sliders <-- Who was high when they put this here? The potential of the show and a decent two seasons can't salvage the final two.
9) Babylon 5 <--- Beaten by Sliders? SLIDERS?
10) Quantum Leap <-- Ok, now you're just jackasses
11) Outer Limits <-- Beaten by Quantum Leap and SLIDERS
12) Buffy <-- Better than Dr. Who, Stargate Atlantis and anything else on this list my ass.
13) Xena <-- With more lesbian action it might merit this spot.
14) Heros
15) Dr. Who
16) Stargate Atlantis
17) Nowhere Man <-- Huh?
18) DS9 <-- Beaten by TNG, Quantum Leap, Xena, Buffy, and FUCKING SLIDERS
19) Logans Run <-- They made a TV show?
20) MST3K
21) Original V
22) Adventures of Superman <-- What? It's a comic, not a sci-fi show.
23) Firefly <-- I think it was overhyped and even I think it was better than Silders
24) Andromeda
25) Jetsons (Using a still from Harvey Birdman no less) <-- Huh?
26) 6 Million Dollar Man
27) Futurama <-- Not as good as Sliders... yeah.
28) Lost in Space
29) Invaders
30) Thunderbirds
2) Twilight Zone
3) TNG <-- DS9 was better
4) Stargate SG-1

Re: 30 Best Sci-Fi Shows of All Time
No UFO, no Space: 1999, no Red Dwarf... I get the impression that this list was compiled by someone who both a) doesn't much like SF, and b) didn't do a damnned bit of research about it, either.

Re: 30 Best Sci-Fi Shows of All Time
Xena and Buffy are fantasy shows. I know those get lumped in with Sci-Fi quite a bit of the time but this is specifically a Sci-Fi TV list. Superman isn't even remotely Sci-Fi. The fucking Jetsons shouldn't be on there and I'd argue that The Thunderbirds is highly suspect to boot. If I'm tossing Superman then Heros is at least suspect and we still don't know what the hell LOST is.

Re: 30 Best Sci-Fi Shows of All Time
What utter nonsense.
Half the stuff there is either ridiculously obscure (Nowhere Man? WTF is that?) or not sci-fi (Buffy? Xena? Spider-man? WTF?)
And where the hell is Red Dwarf? Are you Yanks just sore that you can't copy a great show?

The fact that some of you were born with good taste and working brains does not make up for the vast majority of your countrymen. Don't forget that you, collectively, elected a badly trained monkey as president. Twice.Mikey wrote:Yeah, none of us Yanks would mention that one...
