Apparently it landed on a deep-sea research sub, and came back to the surface with it.

Looks like something out of Gears of War.

Damn, better get those chainsaw-guns into mass-production if that's the case.

Your sense of smell is working perfectly, in that case.

Much as I dislike liars day, this would be a weak joke. Maybe if they were saying that this thing was the size of a Buick or something.

The person holding that thing must not have much of an "ick!" response.

I'm not surprised. I've ordered crustaceans bigger than that for dinner, and this does come right on the heels of the finding under the arctic ice of a heretofore unknown crustacean species.
Anyway, when I read the title I thought it meant that someone got in touch with Teaos. Apparently, he's having some equipment problems or something aboard ship.

No more than me. I think nothing of catching all the blueclaws I can (yes, I only keep the males over 4-1/2" inches) and cooking them alive every summer. The only reason a crab is less unsettling than that is because we're accustomed.

Still got nothing on the parasite that attaches itself to a fish's tongue, sucks it dry of blood and nutrients then takes the place of the tongue.

Last I heard from him, 99% of the ship is having equipment malfunctions.

Are you talking about a hagfish?
