Link to episode one. Need a idea on how epic this anime is? Space battle in episode 1, 13,000 ships of the Reich Empire vs 20,000 ships of the Alliance. So. Awesome.

I'm not a massive anime fan so I'm afraid I haven't got much to compare it to. However big numbers do not a good story make in my general experience.SuperSaiyaMan12 wrote:Any thoughts on this so far?

It seems to me that they've dragged out some of the eps purely to try to pull as much drama and tension as possible. For me I went from being eager to see the battle to being annoyed that I was watching a bunch of kids argue with adults.

Re: Legend of the Galactic Heroes: Best SciFi Anime Ever
I watched the first ep and it made no sense to me. Basically it seemed that two fleets were fighting, and one was hugely outnumbered but the young guy in charge knew he would win because.... well just because, it seems. And on the other side another young guy knew they would lose unless they did as he said... but again it was not clear what he was talking about. The only real message of the story seemed to be "old people don't know anything, listen to the young guys", but it took the lazy way of just having them be right because the script said so, rather than actually coming up with a way for them to BE right.
Don't think I will be watching another.

Well, seems that there are a few us who aren't going to be fans. Have any of you decided that you like the series? I know we have a fair number of anime fans here.

I haven't really bothered to look at it. I don't like serious anime, I tend to prefer humourous animes.

You should make an exception for Cowboy Bebop, trust me.Reliant121 wrote:...I don't like serious anime, I tend to prefer humourous animes.

Bebop had plenty of funny moments though...like when everone was tripped out on 'shrooms.Tsukiyumi wrote:You should make an exception for Cowboy Bebop, trust me.Reliant121 wrote:...I don't like serious anime, I tend to prefer humourous animes.

Bebop kicks ass. It may be anime but it's still better than just about anything else that will ever be on your TV.

Even my mom liked it, and she's 57 years old.Tyyr wrote:Bebop kicks ass. It may be anime but it's still better than just about anything else that will ever be on your TV.
