The fact that the U.S. administration could compromise morality in the face of difficulties is appalling; what's darkly humorous is the (further) example this story is of this administration double-talking, denying, recanting, and believing itself to be above the law.

I was actually referring to this passage in the article:
Senate Intelligence Committee Chairman Jay Rockefeller sent a letter to the acting attorney general saying the administration's credibility is at risk if the documents are not turned over to Congress.
