Bill Clinton went to North Korea and got the two journalists back. Good win for diplomacy.

Some conservatives are giving Obama crap for this. "Negotiating with terrorists" and all that but you can't argue with results.

They've just got their noses out of joint cause it wasn't a GOP member that did it.

As the Vulcans say, "Only Bubba could go to North Korea."
In point of fact, I firmly believe that is was just a matter of Kim Jong Il feeling legitmized. "OK, the biggest superpower in the world recognized me - even sent a former president. I'm done."

Uh....and he wasn't legitimised by the US government for the last 8 years?

The GOP (and many regular Yanks apparently) seem to believe that diplomacy consists of "we talk and you listen" and any deviation is "weakness". The fact that the rest of the world practises a different kind of diplomacy seems to have been overlooked.

OK - "legitimized
again." This is a man fuelled by weird mixture of pure insecurity and megalomania. Consider it just a new opportunity to gain recognition. Bubba goes, girls go free.

We failed at diplomacy and we won't use force, so, dazzle 'em with bullshit. And if there is a master of bullshit it is Bill "Snow 'em Under" Clinton. Never the less, get them back in one day, more power to ya Bill. A question that I have is did the reporters learn a vital lesson at all? Just because you are an American REPORTER (all genuflect in deference) does NOT mean that you can do whatever you damn well please in a foreign country.

Their camera man who got away said they were on the Chinese side of the boarder. So its really North Korea's word versus the three involved. Who's to say if they were in NK or not.

When I read, "Happy Ending to a Hostage Situation," I immediately wondered, "Headshot?"

North Korea is kind of like that pet pit bull that occasionally rips up a random pillow. It's just a pillow and easy to replace, so if the Norks cross the border by a few miles I'm sure that the Chinese just ignore it. Or they make a carefull note for later use
