Used Consoles?

Would you guys trust a used console?

Like from Game Stop or something?

Because I would like to get an Xbox 360 someday, but if I got a new one, I think the Pro package would be the way to go; HDD, headset, etc, great package. And probably cheaper if I get it on sale or near Christmas time.

Or there's used/refurbished, which automatically makes it cheaper, but more risky and less support in case something goes wrong.

GameStop sells refurbished units for around $170; a new Pro package is $300. :?

What do you think?

Eh. Better than EBay, I guess.

I'm just going to wait for a 360 emulator, personally.

You'll probably be alright buying a used one from a shop. They always test them to make sure they're working fine before they sell them again.

If it's refurbished then it should hopefully have had the RROD problem fixed, though I would get one with a HDD. It speeds the loading up a fair bit and rumour has it extends the life of the console.

Most places give a 1 year guarantee with second hand 360's, that said by unbreakable scientifically proven fact it'll break one day after the guarantee runs out!

Just be sure to NOT get the Arcade model. I did, and had to turn right around and by an extended hard drive and some other stuff.
