I take it you didn't see Barrichello's marginally less than perfect start, then!Captain Seafort wrote:And Honda/Brawn GP for that matter. Only a few months ago they were shuttling up shop, and Button and Barrichello were out of their jobs. Now they've come into the first race of the season, qualified on pole, and lead from the grid to the chequered flag. Good for them.
I saw it. I also saw the chaos he caused going into the first couple of corners. Nonetheless, the way came back from a bad start and several dents in his car to finish second was pretty impressive.Thorin wrote:I take it you didn't see Barrichello's marginally less than perfect start, then!
Both of them. I was somewhat unimpressed with Vettel's stunt of trying to keep going with his front left wrapped round the nose.Teaos wrote:Nice race, shame about the safety car though.
Just meant in relation to them leading from start to finish - not quite!Captain Seafort wrote: I saw it. I also saw the chaos he caused going into the first couple of corners. Nonetheless, the way came back from a bad start and several dents in his car to finish second was pretty impressive.
I just thought it was hilarious - I have no idea if he actually thought he could finish the race in the points with several laps to go and 3 wheels, but he gave it a try!Captain Seafort wrote: Both of them. The team still led from start to finish, if even Barrichello didn't have quite as flawless a race as Button.Thorin wrote:Just meant in relation to them leading from start to finish - not quite!![]()
The problem was that under the safety car no one was allowed to overtake him, so he tried to use that rule to hang onto seventh. He'd have been disqualified even if he'd made it to the finish, given that the rules state that if the car's severely damaged the driver has to get it off the track.I just thought it was hilarious - I have no idea if he actually thought he could finish the race in the points with several laps to go and 3 wheels, but he gave it a try!
