Jade Goody has proven that if you are horrible to people on national television, and fail to win two big brothers...that it will all be ok if you get cancer. What a load of crap. A member of my family has been diagnosed with breast cancer, can she slag someone off on national TV and have everyone love her for it regardless? What a load of nonsense. The idea of celebrity has gone way to far, i can't stand idiocy like this. If you think its harsh, I'm sorry, but i still say good riddance.

I hate to say it, but I agree with you. Its far too often that celebs can get away with things just because of their status.
Oh, well, what can you do.

Watching the coverage, I was reminded of when Anna Nicole Smith died. After all day coverage of it one of CNNs guys, Jack Cafferty, did a bit to camera and then said "Back for the headlines now... John, is Anna Nicole Smith still dead?"

I'm sure Jade Goody was a nice enough person, but she typified the new generation of people who are famous for no reason whatsoever. That I know of she's never accomplished anything of note, never done anything significant.

A quarter million or so people die on any given day. Why are we spending time talking about this one?

Well I wouldn't go as far as to say she was nice enough. She was a racist pig for a start.

Who is or was Jade Goody?

A 50th or 60th rate celebrity, Jade Goody. She came to fame on Big Brother. She was loud, utterly stupid and a biggot. She was famously accused of making derogatory and racist comments both about and to her fellow housemate Shilpa Shetty, a Bollywood film actress. Given the program is filmed 24x7 she was guilty, but that only seemed to make her more famous. A few months ago she was diagnosed with cervical cancer, of which she just died.

She was on the UK version of Big Brother. She was loud, common, somewhat obnoxious, and generally a wonderful example of the typical modern young woman. She became famous off the back of Big Brother largely because she got in the papers a lot so people could sneer at her. She was one of those "love to hate" characters - a sort of low level version of Anna Nicole Smith.

When she got cancer it was hilarious watching all the newspapers that have been ripping on her for years suddenly turn around and start doing the big sympathy thing.

My aunt has been diagnosed with breast cancer, why can't she be famous for it and get lots of money? So unfair it makes me sick.

Damn straight. My grandfather's cancer got so bad his esophagus deteriorated and bile and stomach acid spilled into his abdominal cavity... The only reason I give a sh*t about this chick is that Uzume is the same age, and now I want her to go in for a pap smear.

I mean, I'd give her a checkup for free, but I'm not an expert.

Much as I dislike supporting her, she did do that in large part to set her kids up so they'd be looked after comfortably once she was gone. Which is understandable.

Can't say I particularly care. Though at least now I can watch the news without being bombarded with worthless shit about how long Goody has left to live.

And we are free to glob our global headlines with more useless crap.
