XBox 360 or PS3

My tax refund will be here soon, and I'm FINALLY getting a new game console. Any suggestions on which is better? I'm leaning towards the Xbox, because of the rumors of KOTOR III, Marvel Ultimate Alliance 2, Assassin's Quest, and Fable 2.
Any thoughts to share on helping me decide?

its difficult. I used to prefer the 360, but I am leaning toward PS3 now.

I've a 360, and I'm quite happy with it. I've never had any problems with it at all, despite it being a year and a half old.
Also, I think there's better games available for it.

I've had 360 for couple of years now and I'm very satisfied with it.
The PS3 is a good machine too but frankly I can't stand the controller, its just the old ps2 one fancied up a little and I get sore thumbs from using the thumbsticks. I know aftermarket controllers are available but if sony can't be bothered designing a better controller then sod em.
Rant over.

Seems KOTOR3 might not be coming out ant time soon

PS3 controllers annoy me. They are too small. I have huge hands, and they get all tangled round that pissy controller.

I don't have either, i'm currently in possesion of a PS2, however I'd say go with the 360.
from what i've seen of the system it's just as good as the PS3, not near as expensive, and has more/better games.

The Xbox 360 has more games currently by virtue of being older, while the PS3 has more potential for longer and more graphically intense games thanks to it's higher performance. However I don't think we'll see that until Microsoft roles out a new system that uses a Blu-Ray disc, simply because developers would be reluctant to limit themselves to one console. I'd go with the 360 right now, more available, more DLC and you can use a points card to pay for downloads rather than a credit card.
Get the Elite though, I'm not sure if they fixed the RROD yet on the lower end models but they definitely have on the new Elites.

No, 399$ CDN. The lowest end PS3 is also 399$.
The Elite is also the only one that is black, the others are white.
Edit: Oh, taxes. With our 15% it came to around 460$ and of course I had to buy a second controller...

We have a relatively old white one, andt had the RROD. But it was fixed within a week. Most of the older White boxes would likely have had the update to eliminate the RROD problem.

I'd go with X-box 360 because it can (IIRC) play regular X-box games whereas the PS3 (currently available retail models) can only play PS3 games.

What PS3 version do you have?
The 60G and some 80G are backwords compatible. However, the others shouldn't be (so says Sony).
