Fallout 3

Post by Reliant121 »

Just wondering if anyone else has basked in this games awesomeness :D

If you dont know the story, i'll give a outlook.

Fallout 3 is set in a post-apocalyptic environment set in Washington DC and the surrounding area. basically, the events around world war II did not happen in the fallout universe. Life went on naturally, but set in a 1950's style for several decades until the late 21st century. The United States and the Chinese went to nuclear war, destroying much of the planet and breeding the current environment of genetic mutation, strange creatures and radiation poisoning all over the shop.

Your character is born into "vault 101". Vaults are small inhabitation centers set up by Vault Tec. the inhabitants are protected from the outside environment, but are unable to leave (due to rules and regulations). The rules of the administrator are law. You escape after your father leaves the vault. so you have to go out and survive in the Capital Wasteland, the area that used to be Washington DC.

Its sorta like a futuristic post apocalyptic environment, thats based off of the Oblivion style of play.

Sounds awesome. I'll have to keep an eye out for it. :pirate:

I have it on XBox 360 - its pretty damn good, lots to do and see. The level of detail is fantastic but its what I've come to expect from Bethesda (makers of the Elder Scrolls iv Oblivion). The only gripe I have with it is the limited amount of downloadable content available so far.
Though to be honest I've been playing Call of Duty 5 for the last couple of weeks :takecover:

The level of detail is amazing. I mean, going into the "minefield" and lockpicking your way into one of the three houses, the beds even have the skeletons of the dead on them, there are pots where they would be just after cooking, and books strewn over the floor. and dust pollution in the air, its just so detailed.

I have the CE and I must say that I was dissapointed, I must have set my expectations to high due to rose coloured glasses. And thanks to Microcock buying the rights to DLC, there will be no expansion for us PS3 users.

Jessbird and I just started playing this and I'm impressed how much fun I have with it. How much luck is everyone having up to now on this game?

I played through three times, each using a different weapon set (energy, small, big) and then lost interest. I might pick it up for 360 though just to get the achievements and try the DLC.

Played through a couple of times and really enjoyed it. The operation Anchorage DLC is fun and the next installment is coming soon set in Pitsburg I believe.

I've got my guy worked up on Small arms and Int. I like that I'm picking off targets at a hundred yards with pistols. I went through a school filled with raiders and just owned them!

The really big super mutant behemoths are the best fun. You get an achievement for killing all of them in the game and lots of loot from the dead ones too.

One BIG question. Where do I go to get trained with Power Armor?

After you gain entrance to the Citadel you need to ask Elder Lyons permission and then speak to Paladin Gunny in the courtyard.

If you download the operation Anchorage content you can get a suit of old prototype power armour for completing it and it can be repaired using outcast power armour so you can fix yourself up without too much hassle long before you need to get into the citadel.

Make sure you go in to do the operation anchorage mission with loads of encumberance free cause once I came out of the place I couldn't get back in.
