Hurricane Ike

Post by Tsukiyumi »

Well, it looks like we're going to take a direct hit from this one; I'm actually a little nervous. Here's hoping my apartment doesn't blow away. Wish me luck!

Whats the worst that could happen to you? I thought you were rather inland? At least enough to not worry about flooding ect.
What does defeat mean to you?

Nothing it will never come. Death before defeat. I don’t bend or break. I end, if I meet a foe capable of it. Victory is in forcing the opponent to back down. I do not. There is no defeat.

Aren't you by Houston? Not that it matters, because the entire east coast of TX is supposed to get some, but I think Houston to Corpus Christi is the real hot zone. Do you have a place to go if necessary, Tsu?

Teaos - yeah, I'm about 60 miles inland, but they're still expecting 10 inches of rain and up to 100 mph winds here.

Mikey - not really. My plan is to batten down the hatches; my apartment faces north, and the wind is coming from the south-east. Even if power is out for days, I've got enough food and water, medical supplies, etc.

Rochey - thanks, man. She's going to hunker down as well; she's about as safe as I am.

They're telling people who arent in the 15-18 foot storm surge area to stay put and let those that are evacuate.

I've been stocking up for a few months now; I think I should be fine, barring my apartment collapsing. Which could theoretically happen...

Nah. I'll be fine.

I would if I had any boards. My windows are all covered by blankets anyways. I never took all the stuff down from hurricane Rita here three years ago.
