That is really weird.
i thought that all proms were interracial
at my school they've been interracial since as far back as I can remember.

Last time i checked, yeah
they're in Mississippi though,
there have always been greater racial tension there.
But still i didn't think they were segregated like that.
I didn't know towns like that still existed.

That's nothing compared to one town in rural Georgia which a friend of mine had to visit on business, but what he saw there was so putrid that I don't even like to repeat it.
There were race riots in my old high school in the mid-70's (no, I wasn't in attendance yet, smart-a**es) but by the time I was there it was completely integrated and tolerant of interracial couples, etc.

How in hell is that legal? "Tolerance"? If our country ever had any, we're losing it pretty quickly.

There will always be extremes in what happens. I remember on the news awhile ago that NY had opened a school just for gay kids. You cant base everything on what a few do.
And remember this school is now intergrated. It is moving foward not backwards.
