Running older games on Vista

Does anyone have problems running older games (2004 and earlier) on Vista? I'm just wondering because My new computer has Vista, and I'm a little leery about running some of my older games, like Star Trek: Elite Force or MDK II. By the way, I have nVidia GeForce 6150 SE on board, and I'm thinking of changing to a better one in a PCI-E.

It's not as bad as people make it out to be, but it does take some getting used to to do what you want, and Microsoft is providing updates all the time.

Here is a list of Vista compatible software. Unfortunately support for older games is spotty thanks to MS charging ridiculous fees to get the info required for the proper patches. You can run various older games under emulators.

That's why I'm still running Windows 2000 pro.

EDIT: digging the new AV, Reliant. That's a great picture.

Me too..... I have XP on my machine as well for running a couple of modern games, but I don't like it much, and tend to stuck to faithful old 2000 pro for most of my computing needs.

I prefer using XP or 2000. My school is an advanced tech school and we know better then to switch to Vista. If it's not broke don't fix it, or replace it with something that needs to be fixed.

I use XP. Most of the computers in the school I work at are also XP, they're common as dirt over here.
