Well, you might be forgiven for not knowing about it, given that it's - what? - half a decade old?

Basicaly, it's the greatest space combat simulator in history.
In the first game, you play as a pilot of the Galactic Terran Alliance, which has been at war with an alien government, the Parlimentary Vasudan Empire, for the last 14 years. However, another alien race known as the Shivans appear, and begin a xenocidal campaign to wipe out the humans and Vasudans. You go up against squadrons of advanced alien fighters, well-armed cruisers, and massive 2 KM long battleships in an attempt to save Earth from the dreaded and invincible Shivan flagship, the Lucifer.

Then there's FreeSpace 2, which is set ~30 years afterwards, with even cooler ships, fighting off the second Shivan invasion and xenocidal rebel humans to defend the Galactic Terran-Vasudan Alliance.

Actualy, that thread was just a request for some technical assistance when I couldn't get the game working. I don't think we ever actualy had the thread itself.

As for the FS Bible, I found a copy of it there the other day. Quite a lot of interesting stuff.

I've heard of Freespace 2. Never played it though as it never really piqued my interest.
