Excellent point, Rochey. And to further emphasize it, we're talking about the globalization of civilization, and the subsequent idea of being able to safely "rise above" our base instincts, being able to be safely accepted for only approx. 5% - 10% of our total length of existence as a distinct species. It's fairly far-fetched to think a species could change it's nature in that short a time.

As an aside, perhaps the Euro's strength against the dollar is a bit overstated. Certainly the dollar is at a nadir right now, but Saturn (the franchise for which I work) has recently released a new model, which is a rebadged clone of an Opel - which is GM's continental brand. A nicely equipped version of the Saturn sells for $19,000 - $20,000 U.S., but the Opel sells for about 18,000 euros; which SHOULD be about $27,891 US according to the current exchange.
