IMO, things that are "wildly popular" are generally terrible from any sensible standpoint; I'm not surprised, of course: 9 out of 10 people are idiots, or some variety of dirtbag.

Hey, L&O and L&O SVU are good shows. The other does suck pretty hard though.

Tyyr, the reason that a massive amount of hate is being directed towards it is because it's popular right now. Undoubtedly all those other such examples of horrible yet popular movies got their own hate-fests when they were big.

I agree, however, I don't see CSI as sucking, it started to go downhill once Grissom left though, because he was the main character, and all the spin offs are the same as the original just with different characters, who were identical to their counterparts.

We have to remember that what people enjoy and what people don't are widely varying things. For a vast majority, being a good show, and being an enjoyable show are entirely different things. There Are a vast majority of people who like a particular program even if it's poorly written, has a ropey plot, is unrealistic or whatever it may be. I, for example, enjoy Andromeda even though it's all rather fantastical, and even a little over acted in places.

Topic moved. It's not sci-fi, but that's why the forum's called "Other/General".

Yeah, pretty much every episode of those shows are identical to each other.

Deep - same with Law and Order.

If you look up "Generic Procedural Cop Show" in the dictionary, there should be listings for both of those "series".

Thank God someone finally staked ER in the heart...

Of course, it was replaced by ten more "Generic Procedural Medical Dramas". :bangwall:

I read all four books... and to be honest, I have read far more insulting pieces of literature.

I can't say that I care enough about Twilight to hate it. Everything I've ever heard about it combined might get a "meh" out of me.

It's a fad series, it'll pass. Especially if the rumors about the author's shit fit have any truth to them.

Let me first state, I could easily be mangling this, given how little I care about the series.

Anyway, rumor was, their was a leak for the next book in the series, one of the editors I believe. And the author blew up over it, threw a huge hissy fit, and declared that because of the leak, she wasn't going to finish the series.

Again, meh. Though I must say, if that's how the author takes life's disappointments, it's no surprise Bella (right?) is constantly being described as a whiney bratty bitch...she's just the author.

No, that's pretty much what happened. The leak was wrong, don't get me wrong. But she overreacted to it. Besides, the book was basically a rewrite of the first one from Edward's point of view instead of Bella's! Everyone should've known what happened, leak or no leak.

Really? Wow, talk about blatantly trying to milk some more cash out of things.

Really, Lighthawk. Entitled 'Midnight Sun'. It would've had some additional scenes, but for the most part it was twilight from Eddie-kins' POV.
