Wait... the Tholians had THAT kind of power, and were then reduced to a handful of refugees by a SLAVE REVOLT? Even Kirk Douglas wasn't able to do that.

But that should be reciprocal - the Tholians should have been just as able to disable their opponents' weapons.

The Tholians appear in the alternate Star Fleet Universe as a significant race. In this universe, they are not native to this galaxy, originating in M81, or Bode's Galaxy. The Tholian Holdfast in the Milky Way is a remnant of the once-mighty Tholian Will, an empire that once ruled their entire Home Galaxy. However, one of their subject races, the insectoid Seltorians, developed the technology to break Tholian webs, and used it to overthrow their masters. Some of the surviving Tholians fled to this galaxy, and upon arriving in Y79 (Y1 being the date of first contact between Earth and Vulcan in that universe) claimed an area of Klingon territory rimward of Federation space. (This area had originally been used as the staging post for a planned Klingon invasion of Romulan space - but the Tholian arrival thwarted these efforts.) The Tholians fiercely defended their enclave, repelling all Klingon attempts to retake it. Their "home planet" in this galaxy is a miniature Dyson sphere (wrapped around a relatively small artificial 'star') that, in a remarkable feat of engineering, they managed to bring with them from M81. They are officially neutral, but Klingon hostility sometimes forces them into co-belligerence with the Federation.
Memory Alpha but thats not where I got it from originally. Think it was an editorial written by someone.

ENT has obviously screwed with the arrival time.

Ah, I've heard of this game. While it bears many similarities to Trek, it's best described as an alternate universe, based loosly around Franz Joseph's Star Fleet Technical Manual, that is distinctly separate from the Trek universe.

Weird. Well-developed, but weird. And the bit about moving a Dyson Shell intergalactically defies suspension of disbelief.

I find it interesting enough and plausable enough to consider it as possible canon. Meaning I wouldnt mind if it was and will consider it as what they could be like since we dont know anything about them.

The thing that gets me about the Dyson Shell bit is this: if they were able to do that, they should have the ability to completely dominate the quadrant if not the whole galaxy.

They just got their arse's handed to them and ran away from home. They might not be in a fighting mood right now. According to that they havent been here that long either.

Even the Dyson Shell bit is unnecessary - the very fact that they're capable of intergalactic travel shows that either they're got the speed to strike anywhere in the Federation with impunity, or their ships are far tougher than anything any of the other powers have. Either way, they should by the dominant power of the quadrant, if not the galaxy.

They might not have transwarp. They may have used something like the Catapult seen in Voyager to jump Galaxys. They certinly dont seem to be that fast.

That's true, but then they should have been able to recreate the catapult (or whatever) once they got here.
