Well if Cech heard about a race he might think about getting in on it. He's got the Danube, which like most fed stuff is probably faster than it is well armed. Still not a racer though.

However Cech has been up to his eyeballs in the extradimensional/future tech on the pride for at least a little while now. And his ship is designed for science and engineering so he'd probably be able to make the needed mods.

However Cech isn't a pilot. Now, who has he been putting through the paces on his ship...........

I'd have to go back and see how the Myrmidon spec'd out - if it's up to it, Gunny is certainly in a "devil-may-care" attitude right now.

Well origionally (from starbolts prides stats thread) you had it as more of a fighter/cargo ship than a speedy vessel. But it's a freeform RPG, and I can say with some confidence if a Trek writer wanted the myrmidon to race it would be able to.

Though again if a bunch of us are in the race we'd have to arrange to have the fix in OOC wouldn't we? Like a WCW fight or something.

You could always modify your ships to give an extra burst of speed.
We do have a bunch of people on board who are undoubtedly familiar with modifying ships.

Yeah presuming this thing is more like a modern day Rally type race as opposed to NASCAR getting in the action shouldn't be too hard with some work.

Another option would be to be in the race but not be in contention. It could well be that once the frontrunners get out ahead it's a party like in a regatta with the ships out back. Actually you see that with a lot of races. For example with the RAGBRAI bike races there will be beer stands the whole way.

At any rate as hinted I could take Jabbers as a pilot and take Bossk as crew to help keep the new speed enhancing systems going (I might need his strength).

Alternatively we could go to a new thread where some of us racing and others actually moving the Pride plot forward.

Actually since the Pride plot seems dead in the water and is waiting on Blackstar some of the rest of us could probably complete a race and be right back while the Pride is still docked on planet.

OK - I think we're all back on board; Cech is in the infirmary, Gunny's beginning to take up substance abuse as a hobby, there's a BoP looking over our shoulder, and I and then Sunny were our most recent posts. Are we actually going anywhere?

I'm waiting for something to actualy happen. I've no idea where we're going next, so I can't really do much. I can throw in a filler post if someone needs one.

For my 2 cents I think we should do the race.

Blackstar is in the drivers seat for this RP and I think he's fallen asleep at the wheel. Luckily he pulled over to the side of the road so we could get out and do the race thing. If he doesn't bring the chackat he'd be free to advance plot while we're out and about.

Its always hard to start a new mission. I took me ages to get everything ready for Daystroms Beta mission. But now its all set up its ticking over nicely.
