For all we know it could be some botched something-or-other that was made out of random pieces of tech from the ship.

Since it wasn't here before, and this light wasn't blinking before, I doubt its anything from this ship, I think we should deactivate it.

Right... and what if, in the process of trying to deactivate something none of us have any experience with, we trigger something that blows up the ship?

Well, I wasn't going to ask you to deactivate it Ensign, I want the master chief to take a closer look at it.

If the traitor put it there to broadcast a beacon, then we will get some company that we don't want, company that will most likely blow the ship apart for us. Do you want that?

Eh, good point. But it would take them a while to receive, locate, and track the signal. About two or three days. So we have till then to deactivate it.

Get the master chief on it, tell him I want to know if he thinks it can be safely deactivated. And I want his answer within 24 hours.

Have Specialist Lazer take a look at it, he might be able to help.

*examines the device* I think Foxx is right - this looks like alien technology. If it's a communication becaon, then it's more compact and sophisticated than anything we've got.

Do you think you can deactivate it?

Preferably without risk to us. No electric shock or explosions. I'm really fond of my body parts.

*looks at Stitch sharply** I certainly hope that Lazer would understand to see if he can do it without harm to himself or the rest of the crew. Since one of us is a traitor, we need to keep everyone around till we find out who it is. Then when we find out who it is, we can shoot him.

**sighs and rubs her eyes** Ensign don't take it personally, i'm a little on edge, and not really used to being in charge. I was always the second in command, second most senior, and this was just supposed to be a routine flight, not a life and death situation.

Well in any case we have some tough decisions to make. I initialy doubted it, but it does indeed seem that we have a traitor on board. We can only presume that he, or she, murdered the Major and set up that beacon for a reason. If that thing's calling the Cylons to come and pick us up, then we need to do something fast. Our first priority should be to determine who put it there.

And how do you propose we do that? I'm open to suggestions. I don't think we'll do any better verifying alibis for last night then we did when the Major was murdered. Weren't you in here all night? Did YOU see anything?
