How much of that is him and how much is his daddy and him having enough money to buy talent. He basically won the second term by playing on fear and you can hardly go wrong with that.

Here's the thing with King George - you can't be a complete moron and get away with as much as he did. A moron can't get busted for his coke habit and still become president. Foolish, yes; ideology with which I disagree, yes; street-smart enough to become president twice, though.
I'd credit his first victory more to his family connections and...well, Al Gore, and his second victory to fear mongering.

Don't get me wrong, guys, I'm not defending him. All I'm saying is that, appearances aside, you can't get to his position (even if you screw up when you get there) by being a cerebral vegetable.
