me,myself and I wrote:
The whole "now we see through a glass darkly bit." What makes us who we are? Our genetics or our choices? Because Shinzon is a maniacle genocidal lunatic does that mean Jean-Luc Picard is capable of the same thing? Because B-4 looks like and has Datas memories does that make him Data now? We cherish our position in the universe because we thing there's only one of us. Now there's two. What does that make us? A shadow? An echoe? Do our genes predetermine what we do or is it primarily our choices that dicate our lives? Etc. Etc.
I see what you mean. I saw the potential for a great philosophical exploration, like in TMP, or some other better example that I can't think of ATM. It didn't feel like that was the point of the movie though. It felt like that used to be the point of the movie back in the first draft of the screenplay or something. However, being an identical twin, I'm sure I have some special shiny wisdom regarding this idea... I find identity to be quite malleable. My brother and I are alot alike, and because of that I'm sure there's potential for an identity crisis floating around. Since college, he and I have managed to diverge noticeably in some areas.... but it' hasn't made us happy, like you might expect. I think we both regret having let go of certain things.

Anyways... there oughtta be a smiley getting off a soap box.

I know exactly what you mean - I fall asleep every time there's a Trek series with a theme song as well. Of course, there's only one with a song.

I liked the ENT opening. I felt the song was appropriate and fit the series well.

Because the song was also unlike anything in 'Trek.

Except... ENT was about Trek. About growing, about making mistakes... but not letitng them get you down.

Yeah, I like ENT. And I'm proud to say it, too.

ENT has definitely grown on me. I couldn't stand to watch when it was first airing, but now it's alot more enjoyable. I dunno, am I just scraping the bottom of the barrel?

Just skip to Season 4 and T'Pol's shiny spandex catsuits :)

You have as much a right to like it as I do to dislike it. My comment about the theme was meant to reference the fact that ENT did sort of crap all over what all the prior franchises had done.

Don't get me wrong, I like Enterprise to, but I don't even bother watching seasons one or two anymore. Show didn't have ANY re-watchability for me till season three started. Just started season four again, and got one of my roommates hooked :)

I'd almost feel bad for getting someone hooked on a show where only two seasons were worth watching.

Warn him to avoid the first two seasons like the plague.

I don't know about him, but Roberta went on to star in Young Frankenstein.
