Nor would I suggest any occupation that involves honesty or taking orders for you.

Now, how about we both keep this fracking thing to the one thread? Okay?

Again, no mention of Blackstar. Really, getting tedius now.

I think all three of you need a valium.

I'm happy to drop it when Blackstar stops bringing it back up, and stops pointing the finger at myself and Thorin.

Make that a valium, a percocet, and some happy green stuff for good measure...

I completely empathize with that statement.

So, I'd say anyone not happy with the Daystrom RPG should concentrate on this one, and people who like both should carry on as is. That being said, I'd really enjoy throwing something in on this one soon...

Anybody?

Blackstar - I'll settle for a visit with your girlfriend also.

JUST KIDDING!

Really, everybody, just stop. "I didn't bring it up, he did" and "I'll stop when shi does" are just... ecchh. Come on.

As far as posting... near as I can tell, both Talora (through her sources) and Gunny (through both investigation and the application of threats and of pain) seem to have gotten some details on where we need to head next. We just have to get everyone on board - I've already had the crew start to make ready to cast off.

Man. Now if I could just think of some way to get you guys to post like this in the Alpha topic :P

I don't know what this "race" is about. But unless you guys have some idea for a dice mechanic or something it sounds like you're proposing having a situation in a freeform RPG where one group has to win and one group has to lose. I do not see that working out well.

If I were an independant entry, that would explain how I lose my ship (it gets destroyed during the race). And the other racers would be NPCs, if I got the concept right.

Hrmm. Is this a starship race, or something? Im trying to think of a way to squeeze Jabbers back into the RP... I can see him being someone who's good at that sort of thing, and frankly i can swing either way as to whether he wins or looses.

And if he does loose, i think i see a bit of motivation/character development over the horizon.. Hehe.

From what Blackstar described earlier, it seems like a race involving our shuttles and fighters.

I think I'll be sitting this one out. My own ship isn't exactly built for speed.

Ohh.. So its, like.. unofficial, just with the crew? Oh damn, Jabbers doesnt have a ship.. well, i guess technically he does, but he left it at home xD

By the way. How universal is that Universal translator Lauren has? Heh. I was just wondering if it could translate, say.. Sign langauge, or made up language a guild uses to have private discuissions... Or, taking a leaf out of Mass Effect for a second, a language that is half spoken, but also involves the use of Pheromones and arm flailing to get the inflection and context across?

EDIT: Pardon my spastic use of grammar there >_<

I don't think it's just the crew. I think it's a sort of unofficial competition that happens, say, once a year, or something. There'll probably be a tonne of other people from all corners of the quadrant participating.

No one really has any idea how the thing works. It seems to be able to translate pretty much any verbal language, though, even never before encountered ones. The only thing it seems to fall down on is cultural refferences.
Things like pheremones and gestures would be impossible for it to translate.
Who's Lauren? :?
