Solution:
Loss from one Generation to the next, rather than "Sell"
Aka "Grandfather, why is the basement of your house flooded?"
"It's not the basement, my dear, it's what had been the ground floor of the house. I remember the good old days when we used to watch television down there. Eat meals down there."
"Ew, in the water?!"
"It wasn't flooded back then."
"Why doesn't mommy live in a house with a flooded floor?"
Do as what Venice did? Turn the ground floors into 'flooded basements'. Or something.
The other fun is that people might be abandoning the area before that happens. If a wealthy person has a yacht moored upstream of a bridge, and the sea level rises so the yacht might not get out, that wealthy person is going to leave the city. As more people decide to leave, and no other people can afford those homes, the tax income for the city drops, causing a loss of services (which encourages other people leave, setting off a chain reaction).
Every time I see/hear Shapiro, I can't help but think of Norman Bates for some reason.

"...fucking Aquaman"... I was watching something today because I can't sleep at all at the moment, and one of the, er, people, was 1 million percent certain of the existence of mermaids and mermen, we simply haven't been deep enough to find them. Maybe they'll come and buy them?
