College here is 6th form - further non-compulsary education between the age of 16 and 18. University here is the same as your university there I think, higher education for 18 and above.

Over here there the same thing (basicly) but I know our systems are way different.
In the states the difference is based on accreditation. My University became a university like my sophmore year. Before that we were a state college. Before that we were a college (pre 1965), before that we were a community college (pre 1921 or so). So each name just means more money from the state and the ability to offer different classes. Now that we're a university we now have a grad program.

And someone read my writings on Elenir damnit :p I want to know if they're any good. The only person I could get to read the whole thing I was sleeping with and that of course meant she was bias. She kept saying it was so good and so large, then she began to read my story :P

yes university is the same, but I'm still confused on college. Here's our entire educational system, you tell me what's most like your college:

Primary (Elementry) Schooling:
grades Kindergarden; 1st grade, 2nd grad, 3rd grade, 4th, 5th

Secondary:
Middle school/Junior High
grades: 6th, 7th, 8th

High School
grades: 9 (freshman), 10 (Sophomore), 11(Junior [Me]) 12 (Senior [MM&I])

Higher Education:
University ( we also call these colleges)
goes from Bachelors degree through doctorate.

If your system is anything like the french (no offence intended) then I think you may be referring to the Middle school, but I'm not 100% for sure.

The grade split up in America isn't uniform. Mine was:

Elementary
K-5

Middle School
6-8

High school
9-12

But other people I know had it split like this

Elementary
k-6

Middle School
7-8

Junior High
9-10

High School
11-12

And there are other variations.

College is in the same spot as University just less prestige.

The English system (the Jocks, I believe, have something different) is as follows:

Primary school:
Reception, Years 1-6

Senior (or High) school:
Years 7-11

Sixth Form (sometimes tacked on to a High School, sometimes an independant Sixth Form college):
Years 12-13

College:
Either a Sixth Form college or a post-16 institution that offers vocational training or non-degree qualifications

University:
Anything that offers bachelors' degrees or higher

Ha, I tend to do that with homework or coursework. Luckily, I work better under pressure so i tend to get it back. And get perfect grades for it too.

I've delayed a bit of homework too, because I'm coming down with my first proper cold in a year, but I'll have to get back to work today. It's not so much that I can't still finish it; as I noted before I have a very light schedule as I approach graduation. The one thing I did do yesterday is begin to draw up a resume to try to spread around to look for a summer internship to get some experience, perhaps some pay, and a nice goodie to place on a resume when I'm looking for a real job shortly after this one would end.
