Problem though if you use mods, someone else has to have exactly the same mods installed or else the game will mismatch.

Mods I use:
BC Supermod 3.0
KM 1.0 (Include updated KM stuff, DS9 FX, Solar Synthesis)
SG Ship Pack III
Nemesis Sovereign EX 1.0
Kerchan Class
Saffi Torpedo
Electric Shield FX
Century Class
DJ Galaxy Class
DJ Venture Refit
Galaxy Charts
CGI Voyager and Shuttles
Slipstream Mods
USS Dauntless 1.0
plus several more.

Yesterday, I went around in my Starbase 74 (which I added engines to) and took it to Deep Space Nine. It was a funny battle between stations.
There is not a problem in this world that can't be solved without the proper application of a sufficient number of thermonuclear ordnance.

Well, I just f*cked up my BC install, so I'm downloading KM 1.0 for my new install (shame I lost all my custom torpedoes, and so forth, but spilt milk and all that...). I'm hoping I can play online.

I'm also having a few issues installing my new hard drive, but hopefully by tomorrow, I'll be able to find out if I can run it online.

Well, I usually mop the floor with the AI (I've beaten a GCS with a Galor a few times), so I'm interested to see how I do against real people.

I am by no means a fantastic player. i can hold my own in a Nebula or a Griffin but not fantastic. The main trouble is alot of people just go for a Sovereign or Prometheus straight off. but some of the higher or better players use other ships.

I achieved my LCM rank by beaurocratic advancement, not being capable ;)

The Sov is a bitch to beat, for sure, but I've beaten the AI using a GCS. It's a matter of micromanaging firing arcs and shields, but it's possible.

On the other point: isn't that how most SF officers rise in rank? :P

Yeah :D

I am the 2ic of Liberation Armada's diplomacy department. We have alot of stuff going on atm at the return of DD, a clan who implemented "join us or die" strategies. we are at war with them, but we have the support of about 4-6 other clans against DD, and we are the main forerunners of it all.

Sounds like I'd be glad to join your clan. "Join or Die" is the kind of philosophy I always hate.
