I'll say it again slowly, so you can understand it. Nobody's denying that a flat tax is equal. The issue is that such a tax isn't fair. You're the only one who seems to be unable to understand this point.

Which is why, as a democracy, there is a majority of people like us who decide what "should be" in term of taxation (progressive), where people like you are in the minority can't impose your own views (flat rate).

You see, the system works! :angel1:

Yep, the system is working great.

We're stuck in debt to half the nations around the world, near total collapse of our industrial base, job loss and unemployment continue to grow, teachers and police and fire fighters being laid off so people can write off their tax plans and schools falling apart due to lack of funding.

Yeah, great system there.

Its people like you that makes me so glad I'm not a civi. I'd be all for genocide if I had to put up with your kind day in and day out.

So's every other country on the planet.
near total collapse of our industrial base
 Don't be fucking stupid. Yes, the US (along with most of the planet) is going through a rough patch, but your industrial base is nowhere near collapse. Not even the UK industrial base is that bad, and we're a far more service-orientated economy that you.
job loss and unemployment continue to grow
No it isn't. It's staying stubbornly high, but it's also more or less stable.
teachers and police and fire fighters being laid off so people can write off their tax plans and schools falling apart due to lack of funding.
I know it's not got much to do with Solka, but that's one damn good reason why a variable tax rate is a good thing and why the pathetically low rates you currently have (and, for that matter, those that Tsu proposed a few pages back) need to be fixed.

Wait, I have something to do with the other arguments? :laughroll:

Considering we produce only 1/5th of what we used to... thats pretty fucking bad.

Guess you're not living here... because here its still growing.

But that ignores the point of fair taxation that I was talking about earlier before Mikey and Solka fell into their rants. If paid taxes based by total income then the issue would be just as easy to solve. Minus you wouldn't have a bunch of beggars like we have here on the forum crying about things.

How, exactly, would a flat tax rate fix the problem? In order to not drive everyone in the LMC and below under the poverty line, a flat tax rate would have to be relatively low - less than current capital gains rate, at any event - and even then, any gains to federal income realized would be more than matched by expenditure. So, how's that help?

So the only idea you can come up with is go out and beg? Thats taking your stereotype WAY to far! (Yeah, I just said that but it was still in my head from talking about the airports)

If you balance out your budget and set a tax rate similar to our current without the constant waste of funds then you don't have to worry. Its not tough, its call checking your check book.

If someone is in trouble with money then there is financial aid, tax assistance, or get a fucking job.

Where are these jobs of which you speak?

Find somewhere with a help wanted sign and go inside, even if its flipping burgers or picking up trash.

Both irrelevant and untrue. Now, care to answer the question I posted above - with a flat tax and greater expenditure, how does it help our national situation?
